What Can Really Stand In Your Way?
One of my favorite verses from the Bible can be found in the book of Joshua, chapter 1, verse 5 which reads, “Thou shalt not have any man stand before thee all the days of thy life, as I was with Moses, so shall I be with thee, I will not fail thee or forsake thee”. This verse stands out to me because the essence of it is that if the Creative Source/God/Yahweh/Oludumare/Allah is with us, and it absolutely is, then there is nothing that can really stand in our way.
But if that’s the case, why do we experience so many obstacles that prevent us from reaching our true goals? The answer is simple: We have allowed those things to stand in our way. If the true power of the Creative Source is with us, through us, in us, and for us, and something still prevents us from reaching our goals, it is only because we are empowering those barriers in the first place. So how do we overcome these self-imposed challenges?
We have to acknowledge that we are at the creator of these obstacles
We have to acknowledge that we can overcome these barriers to reach our goals if we choose to
We have to do the work
The last part is the most difficult because it never comes easy but that ultimately makes it so much more rewarding when we have removed those barriers and stand on the other side, victorious and even more certain of the power we truly have at our disposal.
